What inspired you to become a Radio Personality and Entrepreneur?
I had tried many different ways of expressing myself, the way I feel, think and perspective on life. Always using some form of media outlet, but nothing has brought me more satisfaction then radio. I never thought of doing live radio. I was actually afraid of it. Especially because it is Spanish talk and I was not raised in Mexico even though I was born there. After 4 years with Morris Desert Radio as an Account Executive, I decided to take the leap and become a talent once again. After giving my 2 weeks’ notice to the company during this time they offered me the opportunity to do Cirenia al Mediodia. They had just purchased a Spanish radio station and they needed talent. I guess I was at the right place at the right time. J
What get’s you out of bed, to do what you love?
Knowing that I’m making a difference in their life’s.
What’s you favorite thing about you business/ job you like to do?
When my listeners call in and participate. It’s awesome!
What bumps in the road did you over come to be where your at now?
I went from making more money than ever made in my life and excepting to make less for the love of going after your dreams! That was a hard adjustment. And last people excepting me for who I am rather than the way I speak Spanish. This one made me cry once really bad. L
Word of advice for any Latina for following her dream?
Believe in yourself and others will too. It is not the other way around. Also, there is a saying our parents tell us as kids “dime con quien andas y te dire quien eres”. That is so true. Hang out with people that want to grow and that know more then you.
