There comes a time we question our faith, our religion, our contributions to our life and communities. What can we do?
Through the support of Angelenos, Catholic Charities of Los Angeles has been able to provide 1.28 million services and programs to individuals in need. Clients come to Catholic Charities for emergency food and shelter, immigration and refugee assistance. They have counseling, skills training and other services available.
Since their establishment in 1919, their purpose has remained the same: to meet the needs of poverty stricken families. When the agency officially became the “Catholic Welfare Bureau” in 1926, it served the extensive territory of Monterey, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles and Orange counties. In later years, Monterey and Orange counties developed their own Catholic Charities’ agencies. The Catholic Welfare Bureau’s name was changed to “Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc.”, in 1986.
Remember that poverty does not discriminate. Catholic Charities of Los Angeles’s services are available to every race, ethnicity, income, gender, religious belief(s), etc.
Here is a list of services they offer:
Counseling Services
Community Centers
Services for Seniors
Homeless Shelters
Immigration & Refugee Services
Youth Programs
Employment & Job Skills Training
Ways to Donate:
If you know someone that needs help, there are many programs that can help improve their life.
