Acer Aspire One 8.9-Inch Netbook
I like to call my Dell laptop my boyfriend, and I would love to take him anywhere I travel. Unfortunately, carrying around my 14-inch Notebook counts as a “carry-on”. That's an issue with me since I need that extra “carry on” for clothes, gifts, my cat, etc. Get ready to dump the big padded laptop case because The Acer Aspire One 8.9 netbook is small enough to fit in with the rest of your carry-on items.
The netbook pretty much has everything a regular notebook comes with: Microsoft Windows XP Home operating system, 160 GB hard drive, wireless and a 3-cell battery for up to 2.5 hours of battery life. The only drawback is that because of its size, the Aspire One does not come with a CD/DVD drive, but one can be connected to it via one of the three USB ports, enabling you to create your music mixes, play DVDs and more. I personally don't care for the CD/DVD drive since I have another larger laptop at home with a CD/DVD drive, but the netbook is great for people who travel a lot and don't like to carry around bulky items. You can find this netbook on Amazon.com for the affordable price of $299.99.
