Sandra and I attended the Microsoft Xbox media briefing on Monday, June 1, 2009 and it completely blew our minds! I was overwhelmed and high from excitement and all the unannounced surprises. I will probably turn this into a 3-part series, but let me give you a quick summary. The media briefing covered 10 World Premiere Games, Project Natal and updates to Xbox Live. Here’s an overview of the 10 World Premiere Games: ![]()
- The Beatles Rock Band- Yup, the Beatles!! Yoko Ono, Olivia Harrison, Ringo Star and Paul McCartney made guest appearances to promote the game. Some of the songs included are: “I Saw Her Standing There,” “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “I am the Walrus,” “I feel fine” and many more. (Launches 9-9-09).
- Tony Hawk Ride- Comes with a skateboard control that mimics skateboard moves. (Comes out 10/13/09).
- Modern Warfare 2- If you like shooting games, this is it. Comes with a 2 map pack. (Launches 11-10-09).
- Shadow Complex- (Comes out Summer of 2009).
- Final Fantasy 13- Coming to Xbox for the first time! (Expected release, Spring 2010).
- Alan Wake- Sandra and I were shaking in our seats when we watched the demo. It’s very eerie and dark, the atmosphere is very well set up. (Comes out Spring 2010).
- Left for Dead 2- (Comes out 11-17-09).
- Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell-Conviction- Will be released this Fall exclusively on Xbox 360.
- Forza MotorSport 3- This game looks cool! I love racing games and this is on my wish list. (Ships October 2009).
- Halo 3 ODST & Halo Reach- Halo 3 ODST comes out 9-22-09. Halo Reach comes out Spring 2010 but for those of you who can’t wait until next year, when you buy Halo 3 ODST you get a special online invite to play the demo Halo Reach on Xbox Live.
