Common released his 8th album, “Universal Mind Control”, on December 9th after he pushed the release date back from its scheduled June 24th release. Originally called "Invincible Summer", the album consists of some of the guaranteed hottest tracks for the year!! His collabo's with Kanye, Cee-Lo, and Pharrell, (who also produced most of the tracks on the album), are fresh sounding, body rockin' tracks. The first single "Universal Mind Control" samples Afrika Bambaataa's "Planet Rock" beat. In 2008, the peak position of the first single was number 13 for the entire year on the U.S. Billboard Hot Rap Tracks, and #60 on the Pop 100 for the year. Each track has its own unique sound and I love the entire album!! Common has always been one of my favorite musicians; not to mention he is super guapo!! Some of my favorite songs include: "Punch Drunk Love "(feat Kanye) and "Make My Day" (feat Cee-Lo). Those are the ones that I keep blasting in my car!
