On June 25th, 2009 it was announced that Michael Jackson had passed away due to a cardiac arrest. This tragic and sudden ending of Michaels’s life saddened many. His lovely charisma and music will live in our hearts forever. Michael achieved greatness in the music and entertainment world, stealing our hearts from the Jackson 5 to his self-discovery as a solo artist. He had many admirers in the music world industry. He set his own style, his own look, and his own sound, making him the most unique artist of his time. Some of his achievements include: the biggest selling album of all time, most No. 1 hits in 1989, and greatest/largest audience. To this day, he still has people wanting to do the moonwalk. Beyond the circumstances, Michael’s spirit and music is still able to unite the world together in peace to celebrate his greatness and remember his music.
I have always been a fan of Michael Jackson, even though I was a late 80’s baby, I am sure I would get down to his music in my mother’s womb. Every time I hear Michael’s music there is a warmth and happiness in my heart. I am personally a fan of his smooth and sexy dance moves. I love to dance and I love to stand in front of the television set at home and imitate his moves. I will never forget my freshman year of high school, where I got the opportunity to perform “Thriller” during the half-time of the homecoming football game along with my classmates. I gave it my all and it was one of my best performances my schoolmates had ever seen. 20 years later, I still dance and sing along to his music.
Some of my favorite Michael Jackson songs are:
- “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough”
- “Beat it”
- “Thriller”
- “Billie Jean”
- “Black or White”
- “Smooth Criminal”
- “Rock With You”
- “Bad”
- “Pretty Young Thing”
- “The Way You Make Me Feel”
Our blessings at Soy Fashionista go out to the Jackson family and his children, which he loved so much. May the fans be strong and never let the music die; we love you Michael and may you spirit live on!
