Mexico City-based indie pop act Hello Seahorse! was featured with the "Song of the Week" at both the iTunes U.S. and iTunes Latino stores last month. This exciting news came in conjunction with the official announcement of ther first US tour covering California at the popular AUTOMATICO events.
'Bestia' was produced by Yamil Rezc and features a collection of special guests. Mexican rocker Chetes plays the guitar parts on the album and shares vocals with lead singer Lo Blondo on the track "Siberia." Daniel Slotnik, of the band Los Dorados, lays down soprano saxophone on "El Recuerdo."
Since the release of the album 'Hoy A Las Ocho' last fall, Hello Seahorse! has quickly become one of Mexico's most talked about indie acts. The album was engineered by Mark Lawson, known for his work with Canadian groups like the Arcade Fire, Islands and Beirut.
Hello Seahorse was formed in 2005 with lead vocalist Lo Blondo, bassist/keyboard player Oro De Neta and drummer Bonnz! The band made a splash at SXSW earlier this year where they met Automatico producer and DJ Ané who also had an Automatico event at SXSW and immediately began talks about the upcoming California Tour.
