There are dozens of websites that will send you catalogs free of charge. Catalogs feature: invitations, reception cards, envelopes, place cards, programs and so much more. Depending on how many invitations are needed, you can purchase DIY kits at office supply stores or places like Target. They come with everything you need and add a personal touch by including a ribbon or charm.
If you decide to print your own, you can personalize them by creating a monogram on Microsoft Word. Monograms are a very classy touch. You can then incorporate that monogram on all printed items, as well as party favors. Here are five easy tips to complete the invitation process with ease:
- Get everyone’s lists together (Groom, Bride, parents, etc.). Limit one invitation per couple.
- Gather your information together:
- Date
- Time
- Name & address of location
- Correct spelling of names
- Time of dinner
- Name & address of reception location
- Time of dance
- RSVP date
- Select your style according to the theme and color scheme you want to incorporate throughout your wedding.
- Determine color of ink & font style.
- Decide if you want to order the following:
- Outer envelope with printed address
- Inner envelope with color liner
- Reception cards
- Respond cards
- Thank you notes
- Envelope seals
- Programs
- Place cards
- Napkins
