If you’ve ever been married and are a Latina, you can relate to this horriffying experience: the phone rings and its your mother toda excited talking about: “Mija, your Tia Floripondia made you something for the wedding !!” What?! there is no way I could possibly want ANYTHING my tia could have made. We are talking about a lady who, to this day, wears tan medias con open-toed sandals . Who does that?! So, my tia left me something for the wedding. What am I suppose to do? If I don’t use it soy una malagradecida . If I do, it will go against my vision for the wedding! Calmada… if this is you, don’t worry; you’re not alone. Here are some of the most horrific things Ive seen at a wedding:
Most Outdated Things at a Wedding
- The light-up glass rose
- Ceramic figurines of any kind with lace and pearls
- 2-liters decorated to be used as a vase or as a centerpiece
- The fountain cake with stairs and colored water
- Toliet paper flowers
- Decorated tortilla holder
- Artificial flowers with water drops
Don’t let this happen to you! Es muy importanate to set the tone for your wedding from the beginning and make sure to let your family members know. If people ask how they can help, go down your list and find ways they can help. This will help you take care of things and make them feel like they have contributed!
