In this economic hardship plaguing our nation… every cent counts! Now more than ever, in this economic crisis, American consumers are saving every last penny. Struggling for rent, bills and payments is causing money to leave our wallets faster than it is coming in.

In a time where every dollar is needed, how could you imagine sparing any amount and setting it aside for an emergency? Actually it’s very simple. For example, start setting aside ten percent of your paycheck every pay period, and possibly depositing it into your savings account. If you don’t have a savings account, stop by your bank and open up a savings account. Many times they are free with an automatic transfer from checking to savings every month (already helping you save a little more.) If you are not the banking type, (which some people aren’t), I have seen people cash their checks and ask for maybe ten to twenty dollars in coin, With that coin, they go home and put it in a jar and save money that way (and although no interest is earned), you are still saving. No matter what your savings technique may be, it is always a good idea to have a backup plan for the future. You never know: you might not have a job in the next month or two. Scary thought, but its reality. So start getting saving savvy, y empieza a ahorrar hoy.
