While At Sea…

With all those great cruise deals out there, you will probably be able to go on your first cruise or return to an old favorite. Either way, these tips will help you enjoy yourself and avoid seasickness.
-
First, get plenty of rest before going on your trip. There is nothing worse than being exhausted and weary on your first day out to sea.
-
Then, if anyway possible book the middle of the ship; it’s the best part to stay in. These rooms have minimal amounts of movement. Therefore, it will reduce your chances of feeling queasy.
-
Avoid acidic and greasy foods. Those kinds of foods can make you nauseous even when you are standing on dirt!
-
Eat ginger. Ginger has several ingredients that will intercept the signals from the brain to the stomach, which will help stop the natural gag-reflex.
-
Walk it out. The worst thing you can do is to sit or lay down. Your body needs to get used to the movement of the boat, get your “sea-legs”. And while you are out walking, look out to the horizon, this will help your brain understand you are out at sea!
-
Also, avoid alcohol drinks. Before you head out to drink your first free cocktail, make sure you have followed all these tips and are sure your body has adapted well to its surroundings.
-
Remember to stay hydrated, even when surrounded by tons of water, your body needs to stay hydrated. I guess after looking back at my tips, it just makes sense to make healthy choices to reduce feeling seasick.
Now, chicas, just avoid the funny looking man in the Bermuda shorts and opened Hawaiian shirt, with the five gold chains and you will have a great time!
