Did you open this article just to laugh at me?  Or, to see what I can come up with?  Because you think, “stress free” and “Thanksgiving travel” do not GO together.  Well, you are very wrong.  I have information that will make your travel this holiday very “stress free”.  Relájate!

First, plan ahead.  Ya se, todos decimos eso, pero nadie lo hace.  Well this time I am making it easy for you, just plan to leave before 9am in the morning or after the noon hour if traveling by car on Wednesday or Thursday.  It’s that easy!  Just don’t travel within those times on those days.  It’s easier to plan to NOT do something.

Next, if possible, try traveling to your destination on Tuesday.  Take an extra day off work and travel Tuesday night.  Then on your return home, travel on Friday.  Most people stay the long weekend or return home Thursday night.  Friday is your best bet!

You can also try air travel.  Considering that about 82% of people are planning to travel by car, this leaves the skies free and clear.  Ok, maybe not that great, but with all these great low airfares, you can afford to give it a chance. In addition, traveling by train has really gone under the radar, but it is a great way to travel.

Portable DVD player!  Three magic words that spell “stress free” when traveling with children.  Bring along some of their favorite movies and all of a sudden, it’s as if you are traveling without the kids... ahhh, lovely!

For those of you out there that can’t stand your family anyway, why not take advantage of great travel deals during the holidays? Most of those in the travel industry know that it is family time, so they drop their rates during these days to lure in those travelers that can’t or won’t spend time with their families at home.  I found a Rome/Florence vacation for $699 a person, including airfare, 5 nights’ hotel and breakfast daily, and all you have to do is travel on the week of Thanksgiving. What can be more “stress free” than that?

See, totally great ideas for holiday travel.  Follow these simple steps and you will never dread holiday travel again!
