Soy Fashionista was invited to a delicious event, where we got to taste, and make our own milkshakes with Got Milk and also try out BLD’s yummy pastries This just brought back so many memories of when I was a nina mi mama would always make my brother and me the best licuados ever. But now that milkshake has evolved, and were getting creative in what we add to milk. Here are some very yummy recipes for you ladies to try out.
Here are a few of my favorites milkshakes:
The Salted Carmel Milkshake
Ingredients: serves for 2
1 pint vanilla ice cream
¼ cup caramel sauce
½ cup milk
1 tbsp salt
To finish: Whipped cream
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a blender and pulse until combined. Divide between 2 glasses and top with whipped cream.
The Frozen Mexican Chocolate Milkshake
Ingredients: Serves for 2
2 cups of ice
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
½ cup of milk
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
2 brownies, crumbled
Directions: Place all of the ingredients in a blender and pulse until combined. It’s so rich, this chocolatey licuado needs no garnish.
The Orange Dreamsicle Milkshake
Ingredients: serves for 2
1 ½ cups of ice
½ cup orange juice
½ cup of milk
1 vanilla bean, scraped
2 tsp vanilla extract
Directions: Blend all the ingredients until smooth. Serve in a chill glass and enjoy.
Cookie Jar Milkshake ( My Yummy Favorite)
Ingredients: serves for 2
2 cups mint or vanilla ice cream
½ cup of milk
Handful of mint leaves
3 different types of cookies
Directions: The day before, combine the milk and mint and chill overnight to infuse the milk with the mint flavor. When you’re ready to make the shake, remove the mint leave from the milk. Combine milk and ice cream in a blender and pulse until just combined. It will be VERY thick. Spoon a third of the shake into 2 glasses. Crumble the first cookie over the shake. Spoon another third of the shake over the cookie and crumble the second type of cookie over the shake. Repeat once more with the remaining shake and top with the final cookie. This is best enjoyed with very wide straw and a spoon.
Enjoy!
