Mmmm Chocolate ……….

Its cold outside and all I can think of is my abuelita’s hot chocolate: el Chocolate Ibarra in the yellow box or the Nestle Chocolate with picture of the viejita raising her mug. I am almost positive that most of you know exactly what I’m speaking of.  My cousins and I would sneak into her pantry and grab a piece and eat it when she wasn’t looking. When she needed it, all that was left was the tissue that once wrapped the octagon shaped chocolate!

This is perfect for the winter months and those rainy days. For me it was what we drank at Christmas time while we sang during our Posadas. Here is a recipe:

What you will need:    

3.3 oz tablet of Mexican chocolate  

2-1/2 cups milk  

1 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp cinnamon  

  
To make Mexican hot chocolate, break the tablet of Mexican chocolate into pieces and bring it to a simmer with milk. Add the sugar and cinnamon. Stir the mixture until the chocolate is melted and well-combined.  

 
It’s that simple!
