Track Your Money

The saying: "It's easier said than done" may apply if you can't seem to keep track of your money. Our mothers and grandmothers did not necessarily have this problem because they did not have the advanced technologies we do today (such as ATM's and credit cards);they had the cash in hand and that's all they had to spend.
Today you can use technology to your benefit by doing online banking, meaning purchases are automatically shown in your online bank statement with a current balance. Log in to your account from your computer and make sure you are not spending more than what you have in your budget to spend. If you are constantly on the go, then you should definitely sign up for mobile banking. Yes! You can even text banks offering this service to receive your current balance. Try Wells Fargo and Bank of America for these innovative technologies.
I strongly suggest having a monthly budget of your total net income and your monthly expenses. Start by creating a monthly expense budget. Once you do your monthly budget for six months, it will almost come as second nature what your total expenses are and your allowed cash to spend when you are out with your amigas doing some window shopping. Keep track of your cash and avoid overdrafts as they can cost more than you spend. Your credit cards have a balance and if you go over your limit, this can hurt your credit score rating!
It may be "easier said than done" but you can do it! Keep track of your money!
