My son is almost 12 and an only child and always asks when I’m gonna have another baby. I began to think of how different this experience would be and wondered: does everyone have a baby shower for the second child? Although some people feel it’s only necessary to have a shower for the first baby, I think every child deserves his or her own shower. How can you just shower one and sprinkle the other? Would you give the second child less love? Of course not! This is why an equally grand soiree should be planned for baby number two, especially in a situation like mine. If I was to get pregnant I'd be starting from scratch.

Some second time mommy-to-be's have opted for a traditional shower and coordinated girls night sleepovers. They invite all their girlfriends and all gifts for baby are PJ's, blankies, bottles, monitors anything used in the nursery. Others have made their showers color specific. All decor one specific color as well as candy stations to fit the color scheme. Whatever you choose to do make sure you do something! The second baby deserves more than sprinkle!
