My Fabulous 15 – Briana Spindola
Imaginate ganar 45 mil dolares para tu quince. Well that fantasy became a reality for 14 year old, Los Angles Native, Briana Spindola who won Verizon Wireless “My Fabulous Fifteen” Contest. Nearly 3,500 teens from Los Angeles, San Jose/San Francisco, Las Vegas, Denver and Kennewick entered to win. Briana’s family sent over 200,000 texts to make certain she was going to have the quince of her dreams.
The $45,000 party package included:

- Dinner for 200 guests
- A formal dress
- Transportation to and from the party
- LG enV3 cell phones for Briana and her parents
- A private, live concert by Mexican pop artist Pee Wee.
Soy Fashionista was honored to be invited to this event. Upon arrival, a reception table where you would check in greeted guests. The table had floral arrangements in various shades of pink with chocolate colored twigs that added height while also incorporating the Pink and Chocolate brown color theme.
I was so anxious to see the ballroom, the suspense was driving me crazy, and all I could think of was $45,000 what does it look like in there? While we waited for the reception to begin, they had fruits, cheese, crackers, and refreshments available for guests, as well as a photo booth. The photo booth had props and the photos were printed instantly.
The minute they opened the door I was in complete awe. I noticed every little detail and boy, they didn’t skip a beat. Let’s begin with the ceiling. It was draped in an off-white organza with white Christmas lights set on the inside. The material hung from the corners of the room. At the tables, the chairs were chocolate brown bamboo tied with pink satin sashes. The table was covered in chocolate brown tablecloths with a diamond design. The table was set with silver charger plates and pink satin napkins. At every chair, they placed a goody bag, which included a frame, mints, and a small bag all with the “My Fabulous 15” logo. Oh and let’s not forget the centerpieces! The vases were approximately 18 to 24 inches filled with pink water and a light at the bottom. The top was roses in all shades of pink and the chocolate brown twigs so pretty!
I have written other articles on quinces and many of you know how important this rite of passage is among Latinos. The significance of a young woman transitioning into the next phase in her life. I have to say Briana was very humble and appreciative of what was taking place for her. The speeches given by both mom and dad were very moving. I was also touched by the compassion of all the people putting on the event and the representatives from Verizon. Everyone was so sincere and happy for Briana. Let’s not forget the concert put on by Pee Wee, that was definitely a treat! I look for forward to next year’s “My Fabulous 15” recipient’s fiesta. Congratulations to Briana again
