Dulce Quince

Awwww La quinceanera, an ever so popular and important rite of passage among young Latinas. I think back to my own and recall what a special day it truly was for me. Growing up, I remember I had to explain what it was and why we had this celebration. It seems that today it is a widely recognized event among everyone. I say this because I was shopping at my favorite store (Target) and came across a display dedicated to Quinceaneras. I noticed that the items had a website written on them, so, of course, I went home and did my homework. I found out that the people at uniquely quince have developed a website to create a fairy tale Quince with just one click of a button. They have various themes to choose from, like:" Red Carpet Quince" or "Paradise in Paris Quince" and many more. I also was impressed to find an assortment of invitations and favors. For only $16.99 you can purchase a Quince planner on your 13th birthday (because we know our eager Latinas are to begin the planning process years in advance).
I was also recently introduced to yet Another website for quinceaneras, quinceanera.com. On this website you can find tips on decorations , contest giveaways, the latest quince fashions, and the proper way to select a location. It's really a great site and I really enjoyed how traditional it is. I can only hope that the young latinas will continue to hold true to this tradition and help maintain the integrity. As parents, we must continue to express the importance of our cultura and the meaning behind La Quinceanera;not just the party, but the pride involved in knowing that your daughter is truly transitioning from a little girl into womanhood. For more information on the Quinceanera, tradition go to our cultura section and read our article on Quinceanera.
