Early Retirement?

Early Retirement?

Lately I’ve been hearing about a few musical artists that are planning to “retire”.  I can understand certain groups/artists (I.e. AC/DC) getting ready to retire since they’ve been making amazing music and  touring for the larger part of their lives. However, The Game and Lupe Fiasco are two artists that have recently mentioned they are getting ready to retire. Hey, even one of my faves, M.I.A., flirted with the idea of retiring (although, I think the immense popularity of her hit, “Paper Planes” put a damper on that plan, thank goodness). Is their retirement even considered feasible? I mean, it’s not like these kids have made a ton of albums. What I’m getting it as that: can you really “retire” when you haven’t worked as hard (time –wise and in some ways, effort-wise) as other artists? Is that even considered retiring? Why even get into the music game if you’re bouncin’ super-soon anyway? As a huge music freak, it boggles my mind that one would give up their craft so soon. So, you tell me: what do you think about artists retiring really early in their careers? Are there any artists you wish WOULD retire already?
