Turn Any Vehicle Green

As I just became a new owner of a big fuel-chugging truck, I decided to find out how I can make my truck “green”. Yes, a fuel-chugging “green” truck! I found out that it is possible to have a green vehicle, no matter what you drive.
Besides protecting the environment, going green could add up to significant savings for you. The main idea is to make sure our vehicles are efficient…consider it our vehicular environmental responsibility!
Ready for the technical stuff? Most vehicles operate when air and fuel mixture is ignited within the engine. The combustion provides the energy that operates and propels the vehicle. The ideal ratio of air and fuel is 14 parts of air to 1 part of fuel. When the ratio moves too far away from the mixture, the engines does not operate efficiently as it should. The fuel economy is poor and the power of the vehicle decreases. It causes pollutants to enter the exhaust system, which increases pollution. Entendiste? Yeah, me neither.
Bottom line: we can maximize fuel efficiency by installing a new set of spark plugs. So take your car down to the local Jiffy Lube place and have them replace your spark plugs. While you are there, have them check your vehicle's oxygen sensors to make sure they are operating properly. Your vehicle will run its best when these sensors are working properly. You will sound smart and sexy to the cute guy at the counter *wink*.
Then there are the tires. We like to show off our nice legs with our nice shoes, well consider that your tires are your vehicle’s shoes. If they are comfy, your entire vehicle will be comfy and drive better, which will make your vehicle more efficient. There is that word again…efficient equals “green”! So make sure your tires are always properly inflated. Get yourself one of those keychain tire gauges and check your tires every time you pump gas. FYI: it should be about 32 psi for cars, but check your vehicle’s manual for your ideal number. Mine is 35 (yes, I checked!).
Overall, keep up the maintenance of your vehicle. Saves us some dollars and it allows us to meet our vehicular environmental responsibility. Ooh, que imporante!
