Get Your Eyes Checked

When was the last time you had your eyes checked? The American Optometric Association recommends that adults get their eyes checked every two years (or every year for those ages 61 and older). Also keep in mind that if you wear contacts you need to get your eyes examined every year to receive a new prescription. Please ladies, do not buy contacts from the señora who sets up the table with all the colored contacts at the swap meet. Your site is precious! It’s one thing to buy knock-off handbags, but when it comes to your eyes make it legit.

Like cell phones, certain glasses can go out of style, so what to do with your old frames? Donate them! I do this every couple years. There are organizations out there that collect your old frames and make new glasses for people in developing countries like Bolivia, El Salvador, Mexico, Honduras, India, and Thailand. Take care of yourself and others next time you go in for your eye exam. Many eye exam clinics have a box where you can donate your old glasses, so don’t forget to bring them with you.
