Free Fallin'

Well, okay, maybe it is an exaggeration, but I am afraid of being way up high. I have had to face my fears on top of a nightclub in Vegas several times. My brother works there and so of course, this is our choice of club while in Sin City.
The two clubs I enjoy are on the 55th floor. Once I’m there, I try to stay inside dancing the night away, but recently I have had a little too much liquid courage and have veered out to the balconies. At one club, there is a ledge that houses a see-through floor to the pool area. Yeah, to say the least I have been afraid to visit that part of the floor. On New Year’s Eve however, I made it out to the edge of the glass and stood there while I secretly hyperventilated. The last time I went, I actually stood on it long enough for a picture and then quickly ran back. These experiences have got me thinking about possibly taking a dive… YES! A sky dive!
So where should I go? My brother recently had his first sky diving experience in Vegas, but I am sure that if I have to drive that far to DIVE, I will back out and never make it. I need somewhere near by:
Here are my choices:
-
Lake Elsinore – Skydive Elsinore is the longest running skydive company in North America.
-
San Diego – Pacific Coast Skydiving has the only drop zone over the Pacific Ocean. You get wonderful views as you fall.
-
Perris – Skydive Perris has indoor or outdoor skydiving.
-
Los Angeles – LA Skydive offers the highest skydive you can make. They also have state-of-the-art equipment.
There are several types of dives you can make: tandem, static line, or free fall. For us first timers, it is recommended to do the tandem dive. That way a licensed guide will fall with you and pretty much do all the work.
Pick a place and go dive. Word of caution, if you are afraid to do this (like me) don’t read the FAQ pages on the websites… all that information really freaked me out, but I am still going to do it… catch you later!
