IndieRocksL.A. defines years of musical evolution and cross cultural influences.
IndieRocksL.A. is a unique and limited compilation album that brings together 14 of the most talented local bands in the Los Angeles independent music scene. Along with special guests from neighboring Bakersfield and across the border to Austin, TX, IndieRocksL.A. solidifies the musically and culturally eclectic L.A. proving to mainstream media and the general public that the wave of new musical talent coming from this city of angels is nowhere near reaching shore.
INDIE:
short for"independent", describes the lifestyle that most local musicians live by. With technological advances such as portable recorders, media sites such as MySpace, YouTube, Twitter, ITunes among others bands are able to reproduce, promote and digitally distribute their own material to the rest of the world without seeking help from large record labels.
ROCKS:
Comes from the slang used in North America to describe greatness and coolness. If you're great, then it's fair to say that you rock as well!
