Macy’s is Red Hot

Everyone’s favorite one-stop shopping spot, Macy’s, continues to show their love and support for the American Heart Association by participating (for the 9th year in a row!) in the “Go Red For Women” movement. This particular movement was created for women, by women, to help uncover the truth about women and heart disease. The statistics regarding women and heart disease are jarring to say the least…can you believe more women die of cardiovascular disease than all forms of cancer combined?! Although heart disease is the #1 killer in women, there is a silver lining: it is preventable.
Because of this, Macy’s remains committed to shedding light on this silent killer. Their annual “Wear Red” Sale is their way to not only help educate us all about the dangers of heart disease, but to also hook us up with great deals on fashionable frocks! They will be selling an exclusive collection of red dresses designed to benefit the cause. Alfani, I·N·C and Charter Club have all designed special dresses that are not only a saucy, sexy red (perfect for Valentine’s Day!), but fabulously versatile. The red dresses will retail from $69.50 to $89, with 10% of the purchase price of each dress sold from January 29, 2012- February 25, 2012, donated to the American Heart Association. Every year, Macy’s goes out of their way to implement new, exciting sales, offers and marketing campaigns to not only help spread the word, but also help ladies look fantastic.
Their “Wear Red” sale kicks off on February 3, 2012. In honor of American Heart Month and National Wear Red Day, customers wearing ANYTHING red (even just lipstick!), will receive a special 10-20% discount on a variety of merchandise. If you aren’t wearing red, but would like to support the cause, you can purchase the official Go Red For Women lapel pin for $2 at any Macy’s store and receive a special discount on your purchases, to boot! All of the pin sales will benefit the American Heart Association directly, so you can be assured your money is going to a great cause. The Wear Red Sale begins Wednesday, February 1, 2012-Sunday, February 5, 2012, so make sure you head on out to your nearest Macy’s (and don’t forget your red!).
For all of your athletic ladies that would like to participate in a more action-packed way (and get your heart rate up!), Macy’s is also participating in the “Go Red For Women Red Dress Dash” to help celebrate a heart-healthy lifestyle. The National Launch event will take place at Macy’s Herald Square on Friday, February 3, 2012, but there will be similar events taking place all throughout February in different locations.
