Meat: Cause of Global Warming

What is one of our favorite past times with the family? Carne asada in the back yard! Yes, admit it. You know you and your family get together all the time over some carne asada and some cervezas.
So, on that note, let me share what I just found out.
Every person that sits down to eat that meat is expending as much fossil fuel into the atmosphere as if he or she were driving a whole fleet of cars around the block.
I did not know MEAT was the biggest cause of global warming!
How can that be? PETA’s website explains that carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide emissions are the leading cause of global warming. What does that have to do with MEAT? Well, every single minute, animals raised for food in the U.S. produce 5,340,000 pounds of waste—that is 130 times more than the country's entire human population. Animals raised specifically for food emit more gases than normal animals, because of the way they are raised. Their waste can’t be used for fertilizer either. What a WASTE! Yuck!
Don’t get me wrong, I am not becoming a vegetarian, but I may consider making some veggie kabobs on the grill at our next get together instead.
Go to the PETA website to sign a petition to raise awareness. Then, let us know what people are doing around your community to raise awareness on global warming. Let’s share!
