Higher Education for Undocumented Students

How can undocumented student reach higher education when federal and the majority of state financial aid is not offered to undocumented students?
There are a few private scholarships out there for undocumented students, but not nearly enough for the demand. Despite these obstacles, some breakthroughs have been made. Seven years ago, California and nine other states allowed undocumented students who graduated from a California high school to pay in-state tuition. Still, most financial aid and loans at public colleges are not available to undocumented students. This makes anything outside of attending community college very difficult and expensive. But there’s still hope! There are quite a few colleges who are onboard with encouraging undocumented students to seek higher education. These public colleges and universities offer in-state tuition to all of their students, regardless of citizenship or state of residence.
The following public institutions charge the resident tuition rate to all students:
* Alexandria Technical College: Alexandria
* Bemidji State University: Bemidji
* Central Lakes College: Brainerd and Staples
* Century College: White Bear Lake
* Inver Hills Community College: Inver Grove Heights
