I don’t remember how I heard about this book, but I’ve had it on my Amazon wish list for almost 6 months now. As soon as I finished my last final, I immediately bought this book and was not able to put it down for two days. This is the story of a Cambodian girl who was sold into slavery as a young girl and later sold into a brothel. There were times when I had to re-read sentences just to fully register the horror I was reading.

The character suffered a great deal but she was able to get out of prostitution and help other girls and young children. I got teary eyed towards the end, her story is truly amazing and at the same time, horrific.

I highly recommend this book to everyone; this book shines light on the unspoken rape, abuse, prostitution and human trafficking of young girls, some as young as age 6. Read this book, become aware and do something about it. Support human rights and women’s organizations that protect and save girls from the sex trade.  You can find this book on Amazon.com.
