The Artist in his own words:
My aunt Celia married Samuel Gutierrez, an upcoming, talented photographer from Los Altos (highlands) Jalisco, and soon after established his own photo studio, Foto Paris, in Tepatitlan, Jalisco, Mexico.
They later discovered that he could not have children, but that didn’t matter to my free-spirited aunt Celia who instead became his muse and together they gave birth to the fine art of black and white photography until his tragic death in a car accident on May 1, 1958 while in the passenger seat of his own car driving back at night, after drinking, from a nearby town after purchasing photo material. Aunt Celia was devastated and never re-married.
