Keri Hilson’s hit single, “Turnin‘ Me On” with Lil Wayne , released at the end of 2008 is still playing loud at the club, on the radio stations, and on myspace pages. Her new single (one of mi favoritas)“Knock You Down” featuring Ne-Yo and Kanye is climbing the charts and the number of her debut album sales are on the rise, as well. What people might not know is that this new hot singer, with a great voice and well produced beats to go with it, isn’t so new. She’s been in the game for a while now, but just playing behind the scenes. Back in 2001, she began songwriting for Ciara, Usher, Ludacris, and Britney Spears. She worked with many artists including Xzibit, Diddy and was in Usher’s “Love in this Club” video and Ne-Yo’s “Miss Independent” video. In 2006, she signed on to Timberlands record label and she was featured in his song, “Way I Are.” . According to her website, her album is about relationships, it‘s emotive, human, gorgeously and deliberately imperfect. She stated, “No human is exempt from the realities of life-the heartbreak, love failure, success-I want my album to convey a sense of reality. That’s the standpoint that lent itself the title. There will be something you‘d change if only you lived “In The Perfect World”…and I’m no different.” The album is great ladies, trust me! Each song has something we females can relate to, and what better way to support a successful female then to play her music and share it with the world!
