Jíca-What?

Jíca-What?

A couple weekends ago, I attended my cousin's baby shower and my tías made a fruit salad. My cousin and I got so excited and went fishing for more jícama in a huge bowl! We began talking about how some people don't even know what jicama is. The best way to describe it is “like a potato, but a fruit". It can be eaten alone or with other fruits.

Here's a quick and easy way to eat jícama

What you'll need:

  • 1 Large jícama
  • 2 limes juiced
  • 1 tablespoon of powdered chile

Preparation:

  1. Peel jícama, wash, and cut into French fry strips.
  2. In a medium bowl combine jícama, lime juice and chile powder and mix well.

*you can also add pineapple, oranges, and pepinos al gusto.
